make your own zine !!
zines are tiny magazines filled with stories or topics of your choosing!
I love zines because you're restricted to 8 pages to tell a little story, appreciate the small things in your life that bring you joy, or capture a feeling that you want to explore
a lot of the topics seem "silly" but in a world that is so fast paced and chaotic, it allows you to draw your attention to something that seems insignificant and appreciate the value that it adds to your life
there are endless topics to create zines about, they can be as silly or serious as you want, some of my favourite topic ideas include:
a love letter to something you love
a little travel journal of a holiday you loved
a tiny book of your favourite things
my dopamine menu (things to make you feel better on a bad day)
your favourite lyrics/songs
your favourite movies, tv shows or books
the little life of [your name here]
an ode to an object that makes your life better that noone pays attention to (my hairtie, my drink bottle, my noise cancelling headphones, potatoes, etc)
why I love grandma hobbies
cosplay a journalist and write a mini article on something you're passionate about
feminine rage
why everything is political
how it works:
you don't need to bring anything, all materials are provided on the night
I will demonstrate how to make the zine template, show you some zines I have made and give you tips along the way
you will get 2 hours to make as many zines as you like!
all supplies will be provided including printed photos, magazines, patterned/colour paper, pens, markers, glue etc that you can use to build your zine
optional extra:
if you have a specific idea in mind of a zine you would like to make, gather the photos you would like to use and email them to me after you purchase your ticket
I will print the photos off for you and bring them on the night!
each person is entitled to 2 x A4 pages worth of photos, this equates to 16 images that will be the size of the zine pages
